Nonprofit Spotlight: Friends of the Gaston County Public Library

For the next few months we will be featuring the nonprofit organizations participating in the 2018 Endowment Challenge. The Endowment Challenge offered nonprofits organizations the opportunity to receive matching funds upon completing a fundraising goal for their Endowment fund. The goal is to allow each organization the opportunity to establish a strong financial foundation.

The Friends of the Gaston County Public Library is one of the 8 organizations selected to participate in the Endowment Challenge. Founded in 1983, they celebrated 35 years of service last year and their goal is to be a support system and an advocate for the Library in the Community. This organization aids the library in planning, funding and volunteer support for its many programs. They have been involved with the Community Foundation for many years. The Friends of the Library participate in the Community Foundation Run each year, and have been awarded a grant from the Belmont Community Impact Fund.

The Friends of the Gaston County Library host an annual book sale, arrange dynamic speakers and visitors to the Library. Additionally, they offer many opportunities for membership. To Learn more about them or get involved, click here.
