Partnership to Simplify Giving

Giving is an expression of who you are and what you care about, and the Community Foundation is passionate about helping you craft your own, personalized long-term giving strategy.

There are many ways to participate at the Community Foundation of Gaston County.  Doing so will amplify your gift by contributing to the growth and well being of our community treasure that is used for philanthropic endeavors directed toward the present and future of Gaston County.  Below are several ways to engage:

Establish a Fund

It is easy to set up a Fund. After a brief conversation, CFGC staff can help you determine what type of fund best accomplishes your charitable intent. A donor advised fund allows the donor to recommend distributions from the fund to any 501(c)(3) organization, school, religious organization or municipality. Endowed funds are charged a 1% fee and are included in the investment pool. Non endowed funds are not charged a fee and are intended for annual giving. Learn More [DOC].

Participate in Benefactors Memorial Program

The Benefactors Memorial Program was established to allow donors to contribute to the Garrison Fund, which is the largest unrestricted fund at CFGC. Annual donations can be made at any of three giving levels: Friends $1,000 and up and Benefactors $250- $999. Throughout the year, donors may request memorials be sent in remembrance of friends and family. The names of the departed are entered into the Book of Memory and published in the CFGC Annual Report

Join a Giving Circle

A giving circle is a collection of donors that wish to target giving in a specific area. The Next Generation Fund is a giving circle of 20 to 40-year-olds that gather to make grants and have social events throughout the year.

You can start a giving circle of your own. Contact CFGC to get more information.

Become a Legacy Society Member

If you include CFGC in your estate planning and notify us, we will recognize you as a member of the Legacy Society. Your membership may inspire others to make similar plans for the future. Even if you do not desire any recognition, we want to have your exact wishes noted. As always, your intentions and name will be private if requested.

Give to Other Funds

CFGC manages over 370 funds. You can make a gift of cash or stock to any Fund or Endowment managed at the Foundation. List of funds [XLS].

Make a Memorial Gift

CFGC's Book of Memory preserve the names of loved ones in whose memory gifts are made. Gifts become part of the Garrison Fund, an unrestricted fund.
