Unrestricted Competitive Grants Cycle

A key role of The Community Foundation is to match donor funds with promising projects across Gaston County. To help accomplish this, we invite nonprofit organizations to bring us their best ideas on how they can improve the quality of life for our region's citizens. Through a careful review process, the Foundation's board and staff work together to award grants that strengthen the nonprofit sector with program and organizational support. In simplest terms, CFGC grants are an investment in the future of our County.

Congratulations to all of the 2017 grant recipients! Read about them here.

The 2018 Competitive Grant Cycle will open in June of 2018.

  1. Step 1. Is your organization or program eligible for the competitive grants cycle? Review the Guidelines.
  2. Step 2. Apply for the 2018 Competitive Grant (once available in June). Only online applications we be considered.
  3. Step 3. The Foundation's Grants Committee will review all applications and make suggestions to the Board of Directors for approval. The Board will determine the final grants awarded during the September board meeting. Notification of grants will be made by the end of September.
