The scholarship will be given to a student who exemplifies John’s motto of “be a gentleman or lady first, a scholar second, and an athlete last.”
This program is designed to help students of Forestview High School obtain a college or advanced technical education and who plan to attend any accredited college or university. This is a one-time $1,000 award.
Selection of recipients will be made by a committee named by the Board of Directors of the Gaston Community Foundation, which shall have full and final authority for determining eligibility of applicants and selection of recipients from those applicants.
Scholarship proceeds will be payable directly to the accredited school upon confirmation of the student’s beginning of classes. However, the maximum amount of a scholarship is limited to actual cost of tuition and student fees.
The scholarship amount is subject to change based on availability of funds.
Applications must be received online. Late applications will not be accepted.
