Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation offers a wide range of scholarships to recognize achievement, respond to financial need, and help cultivate future community leaders. Review criteria and award details to find the best fit for your goals and start your application.

  • $1,000 scholarship for a graduating senior from Forestview High School or Gaston Christian School planning to attend an accredited college or university; preference for students with part-time work and a 2.5+ core GPA.
  • $500–$1,000 scholarship for residents of Gaston or Cleveland counties enrolled at NC State University in the College of Engineering or the College of Physical & Mathematical Sciences.
  • Up to $1,500 for students who live in McAdenville (or have a parent/guardian who does), with a 2.75+ GPA. Eligible paths include four-year and two-year colleges, vocational programs, nursing, community college, and graduate school.
  • One-time $1,000 scholarship for African American students graduating from Gaston County public high schools and pursuing a college or trade degree.
  • $1,000 scholarship created by the Belmont Historical Society for a graduating senior from a Belmont, NC public, charter, or private school who plans to continue their education.
  • $1,000 renewable scholarship (up to three terms) for a graduating Gaston County high school senior who participated in the Chamber/Gaston County Schools Student Mentoring Program.
  • $500–$1,000 scholarship for South Point High School seniors with 2.5+ GPA who show leadership (academics, student government, clubs, sports, or service). Nominated by SPHS staff.
  • Created by the family of Sam L. and Ruth M. Beam to honor their dedication to community service, this $2,500 memorial scholarship supports one graduating senior each year from Gaston or Lincoln County Schools who is pursuing a degree at a four-year college or university.
  • Created by the family of Sylvia L. Holmes to honor her distinguished service as Executive Director of the former Pioneer Council, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., this $500 scholarship supports a young woman from Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Polk, or Rutherford counties. Awards are based on character, academics, financial need, and a thoughtful application, with preference for Girl Scout participation and attending a North Carolina college or university.
  • $1,000 per year (renewable up to three terms) for eligible South Point High School students pursuing science or technology studies.
