Next Gen’s Fiesta Al Fresco Camp Sunshine Event

Next Gen welcomed spring in style at its Fiesta al Fresco social on a beautiful Friday evening in April.

Gracious hosts Juli and Philip Miller opened their home to Next Gen members and friends for a night of fellowship, a festive Mexican spread, and meaningful support for the mission of Camp Sunshine.

For 48 years, Camp Sunshine has been a vital outreach of First United Methodist Church in Gastonia. This week-long summer experience serves underprivileged children in 3rd–5th grades across Gaston County Schools. Children are thoughtfully identified by teachers and guidance counselors, ensuring the program reaches those who benefit most.

Now celebrating 26 years as a giving circle, Next Gen has awarded more than $217,000 in grants to local nonprofits throughout Gaston County. Annual contributions continue to grow the Next Generation endowment fund—multiplying the impact and strengthening our community for years to come.

Join Next Gen!

Interested in joining the Next Generation Giving Circle? An annual gift of $150 per couple or $75 per individual supports the grant-making process. All gifts are tax-deductible and remain in Gaston County to benefit local nonprofit organizations.
