TCGC wrapped up a fun, meaningful year with a speaker spotlight on the Mount Holly Farmers Market, senior recognition, and Kona Ice fellowship at the Foundation—plus a look ahead to July when applications open for the next program year.
TCGC hosted HELP Carolina, Inc. at its March meeting, then packed 120 care bags for unhoused neighbors in Gastonia. The project was powered by an $800 student-led TCGC grant written and executed by Ashbrook students Abby Helms and Tupelo Guzauskas.
TCGC spent a meaningful evening with Least of These Carolinas—touring the new facility, packing Bags of Hope, and learning how LOTC supports children affected by foster and kinship care through resources like supplies, scholarships, and summer camp.
At their January meeting, the TCGC Board voted to distribute nearly $5,000 from the TCGC endowment to support eight student-led projects with local nonprofit partners—strengthening services, expanding access, and meeting real community needs.
The TCGC grant cycle is open now. Gaston County students in grades 9–12 can apply for up to $1,000 to fund a project that supports a local nonprofit. Online applications are due by January 4, 2026.
